Doctor Helen...
Isn't feeling very well. Go by her place and wish her well. She's a great blogger.
The one free boner rule...
It's sort of like the five second rule except with the potential to be a lot messier.
More: He doesn't want to be distracted. No really the man is saying that. See for yourself.
More: He doesn't want to be distracted. No really the man is saying that. See for yourself.
The right...
Protecting its own. Think what they're going to do to their members that are willing to cast hard votes on Medicare.
Well...
Plain old war is too...except when it's practiced against Israel. Then it's a spectator sport.
Yeah and No...
Depends. The internet can surely be too much sometimes. Of course there are those who are desperate for the public not to think at all. They call themselves leaders, normally.
Yeah
Or if the judge just really likes criminals. I mean really, really, really likes them. That's sort of what it has come to in America.
America
Has been no better. It has been no better at all. But it has benefited internationally from most of Israel's troubles and that has been the point. Hell, it's not like America is Israel's lawyer. Why should Israel trust it? Why should any country?
I suppose...
The least we can do is remember them fondly after we let our government murder them. The very, very, very least.
Look at it this way...
If he's removed America will have to go to all that trouble of putting him back in charge. So let's just keep it simple, hunh?
No...
And blaming it all on Obama would be a complete lie. Which is why Libertarians blame it all on Obama.
Funny
It's just the opposite where I'm from. Those most in need are crushed by officialdom every day.
Yeah...
But it's all been out in the open for a decade. No one is bothering to hide the sleaze or their role in it. Why pretend to be surprised? Unless it's an excuse not to do any thing about it?
Good work here,,,
But what if there's nothing left to vote for? What if the leadership chose the other side, and their own pocket books? Cause if you look at where you and your loved ones are now can you draw any other conclusion? If there's a revolution to be had the credentialed children of privilege and power and the social climbing deal makers can't be trusted with our backs, they will always chose their own. They are what they claim to hate. And we are what they use up and toss aside.

Americans...
Would do well to read it as well. Sometimes its not the act. It's the failure to act that sends you to hell. And there are some Americans that belong there.

Actually...
They're worse. I know. I didn't think it possible, either.
Not quite ready to get serious yet...
The Senate, and those who serve it, are like Charlie Chan fifteen thousand people have to die screaming before they can move... to be bribed again.
Herman Cain
I am now convinced beyond all doubt that Herman Cain's candidacy will die heartbroken if the Libertarians are not eliminated from his base. Of course the same can be said for Perry or Pawlenty or any of the rest...except perhaps for Newt. I think they have the mind set to fit within his campaign just fine.
Couldn't survive his own government...
I suspect there are many more people in this boat than we realize...or are willing to admit. And it's a sadder fact that those who aren't white suffer from this stuff the most. And without much notice from anyone, from anyone at all.
Yeah...
You're right, my man, and isn't it getting tiresome explaining it over and over and over?
I don't know how Sarah Palin did it...
But she obviously got to the judge, right? And really anyone can have a bad hair day, though this kid is nuts.
More here.
More here.
Should be necessary. But I can't help myself. Those that babble constantly about their respect for the law cannot be trusted, ever.
Great.
Mike is a great person I couldn't be happier for him. And All Pulp is terrific. I've been beaten to a pulp enough to know. Heh.
They certainly have no room...
To feel triumphant. Sucking less is not a strategy. It is a pathology
Well...
One does get used to it after a time. It's still wrong. It's just what one is used to.
And none of our Libertarian leading lights...
Have shown much desire to undo it. If they were in the military they'd be forced to resign their commissions.
I dislike and distrust...
This administration as much as anyone, but considering congress's record can you blame her?
Question
How did they all manage to have their backs to each other? Just asking...
Makes sense actually...
Except for the part about America. There hasn't really been an America in a long, long time. Lousy leadership y'know.
Well, Paul...
It's not as if I didn't tell you so. But sticking to you principles is a good thing. I admire you for that, brother.
A lot of bloggers...
On the right tried to cover this story up when it first broke a couple of years back. Still don't understand why.
Yes mam, it is among them.
Yes mam, it is among them.
And a lot of bloggers...
Who claim otherwise work very hard to keep things just this way Greenwald and all his rivals on the other side of the aisle included. It's where the money is.

I love history...
But maybe we'd have found it all quicker if we had listened to the guy walking through the desert. I'm sure if he were about, he'd say, "Told you. told you and told you. You beat everything, you know it? You beat everything." As it is I suspect he's in a Muslim Brotherhood prison. Sad that.
Very Insightful.
Read it all. Still I can't help thinking that what most people need when they face violence is a community that will support them instead of tear them down.
Look...
I dislike this administration as much as the next guy, but sooner or later Libertarians have to take some responsibility for their own actions, just some. It's not all Obama's fault. Plenty of libertarians voted for him, worked with him and work with him to this day. Not hating. Just saying...
You know...
Back in the day government lawyers and witnesses who knowingly and repeatedly presented false testimony were disbarred and prosecuted. Now it is very, very rare. What the Hell happened? I wish a law professor could let us know about this. It's a fairly important question.
It had better fight back...
America won't fight for it. In fact America will appoint czars to crush it.
Actually...
I wish I could just feel embarrassed for America, right now. It would be a step up.
Idea for a novel...
I'm thinking about a new novel. Here it is. My protagonist is a lawyer. Ten years past he is appointed to defend a kid in a death penalty case. The kid is adopted and has been in and out of foster care in the state of Georgia for years. So the lawyer starts looking into the kid's past and discovers that the kid's mother was also trapped in the foster care meat grinder and had landed in a slavery ring where rich guys came to get their rocks off. Turns out one of the rich guys that came to get his rocks off was the governor of a neighboring southern state. Well this governor raped this poor young girl and the result was the protagonist's client, now accused of murder and looking at a lethal injection.
To make things more interesting since the kid was born this governor has gone on to become president of the United States. Now that the kid is in the news and in jail the president is nervous he wants the kid executed. Protagonist's co-counsel is happy to play along. But the protagonist being a mouth fool isn't.
Also hovering around the scene is a shadowy professor who has control of a lousy private detective who has attached himself to the protagonist. The detective, like the professor, doesn't give a rat's ass whether the kid lives or dies. He just wants DNA samples he and the professor can use to blackmail the rapist president.
The protagonist manages to plead the kid out to life without parole and the kid sits in prison to this day.
The rapist ex-president carries out a vendetta against the protagonist to this day hatching one crazy plan after another to kill him and drugging him and having him locked away in mental institutions. He even goes so far as to torture the protagonist's mother to death. The shadowy professor just watches it all and increases his power at the protagonist's expense. I have no idea how to end it.
Update: I should also point out that somewhere in the narrative this shadowy professor is going to make a couple of attempts on the protagonists life himself and bring in another professor to cover up his own crimes for him.
One last Update: I might make this shadowy professor actually be the sort of sleaze who was working for the rapist president ten years ago. I think I'm going to have him be a big supporter of the vice president then. In that case he would have been working to screw my protagonist to cover up the rapist's crimes and to make certain the rape rooms kept churning. That seems much more truthful in a literary sense. Academia. What can you do?
And I'm not even going to get into how fond of poisons my professors are going to be.

Well...
At least he does. America, as it is presently run? I wouldn't stake my life on it.

The right and Libertarians lie shamelessly ( pretty much all the time but particularly here) when they complain about these things. They and their candidates have played along with and politically benefited from these things for years now. And should they ever actually achieve a majority they would quietly refuse to address any of these issues. Additionally Republicans and Libertarians have been big backers of GPS monitors on people who have committed non violent drug offenses ( and who never should have been charged with a crime to begin with) But those are normally hung on black kids so who cares about that, really, right fellas?
Black conservatives...
You need your own party and your own media. Allowing others to make you a perpetual victim is a mistake ( Trust me on this one. Some powerful men and women really, really get off on that and never ever stop even after they've achieved all of their goals.) but pretending that history and reality are something other than what they are is a step towards Orwell. Defenders of freedom should at least pretend to know better. And in reality they do. The race card is played both ways, alas. And the people that play it like this are certainly no better than Al Sharpton.
As soon as...
Herman Cain begins to poll better this is what he's going to get from the right. All of it, Republican and Libertarian alike. And they;ll all pretend like they just love him as they sink the knife in. Remember a half- friend is worse than no friend at all. They can do and will do more damage when one's back is turned. False objectivity is a front for dishonesty every time. Every single time.
Cool Art
As always over at MD's place. He's a talent. I'm especially partial to the part about being unamused.
Every day
It becomes more apparent. And an awful lot of the folks who pretend not to be elites are in politics and in academia. Especially in academia.
I know the feeling...
Things that once seemed benign have turned entirely creepy. Maybe we just never saw them for what they were?

African American conservatives...
Well...
Let's hope none, but I don't know many lawyers or judges that think that way. That's truly not a slam at them, at least it's not meant to be. It's just not the way the decision making process is honed in law school. So I guess you can blame the professors, though they were indoctrinated into that culture as well. It's just a cultural problem, and it's not liable to get better any time soon.
And really the bulk of the people released are probably drug offenders who don't need to be in prison any way. Legalization could have cured much of this problem.

Heh.
Same thing with bloggers and blogging, I bet. And my guess, though I certainly don't know, is that there is as about as much loyalty as well.
It is really sad...
When Libertarians and Republicans blame others for policies they voted for before they become so obviously catastrophic. Man up and say we, boys not they.
As long as the current Administration is in control...
I agree with them about America. Considering what has happened since the end of 2008, first of 2009 resignations are in order. But I don't think that's what they have in mind.
Or we could, you know,
Believe the people that walk through the woods. That would be a novel approach.
You understand how...
committed America has been to negotiating with this regime. And you remember how hard America has worked to negotiate with the Taliban. All that leads one to suspect that there are officials in the American government committed to talking with and satisfying people with American blood on their hands. Those officials should resign. Right now.
America...
Does an awful lot of this. It's not my call to say whether it's a good thing or not. The victims must be a little put out, though. Hopefully these were victimless crimes these folk were released for.
These are cool...
But shouldn't there be one with glasses?
There should be a mad professor or two in there as well.
There should be a mad professor or two in there as well.
Sadly the only frames...
The right and the libertarians draw are around their staunchest allies. People like Paul Ryan. Get used to it Paul. It's going to happen every day as long as you are seen as a threat to the graft.
Interesting book.
In current times is there anyone in America's leadership interested in fighting a war of liberation? The answer is no of course, and the helpless should be very concerned.
Look, I will explain it simply...
From the lowliest field agent to the most powerful director, this is their job. It is not a bug. It is a feature. It is how they put food on the table and advance their careers. There is nothing else. There is no better nature to appeal to. There is no hope to wait for.
Seriously, if you are America's friend...
You are in deep trouble. If you are her enemy, not so much
More. There is always more, and most people on the left and the right are happy to play along it makes their lives easier or more profitable.

This is what is commonly known as...
Bullshit. One knows by looking at what has been done in the past.
Actually one can tell
If one wishes to see. It's the wishing to see that's the hard part.

I'd do just fine...A lot better than most thought...
Time and inclination...
They are related. Those with one find the other. I happen to have both.
Well, you know the old saying...
When Irish eyes are smiling...guard your back. I kid. I kid because I love.
See? Us farm folk, we understand fun.
See? Us farm folk, we understand fun.
Race and the right continued...
That didn't take long. Told you so.
Yeah.
We've seen a lot of this. A whole lot of this. I wonder who has gained the most political advantage from it?
My mother...
died almost a year ago to the day. It was cancer, though at the end, once her brain began to go, it resembled mad cow disease in its symptoms. We never called in a sitter or put her in a home. Outside of hospice it was just us. At the last she lost all control of herself. At first I had to lift her onto the toilet, and I continued to until the end, but she became so incontinent we had to put her in a diaper. She spoke gibberish mostly for the last couple of weeks, though some of it could be understood. She would often say "I want my Daddy and my Mommy." She was always a Daddy's girl. And sometimes she would look at me and say. "You're all in the dark. You're in the dark." I guess I was. I guess I am. I guess I always will be. She was the greatest woman on earth and I will always miss her.
Few people have ever considered this...
But making a normal and decent man into a messiah without his consent has to be an unpardonable sin. I hope no one would ever be cruel enough to do that to another.
Yes and no...
While there is no doubt that over the past twenty five years or more the Democratic Party has been horrible on race that isn't the whole story. Most folk of African ancestry have been left with little choice but to vote for Democrats mostly because Republicans, though not overtly as racist as they once were, are still more worried about the pleats in their golf pants than providing economic opportunity for anyone. And while Democrats are no better, and often times much worse, they do at least bother to make the right noises every now and again.
Into this mix of dumb and dumber have lately stepped the Libertarians, who I have had some passing association with. They have made an earnest, if not terribly enthusiastic, attempt to attract the African American vote. And their message of opportunity, personal responsibility and less regulation is the correct message. So, does that mean the black vote should leap into their waiting arms? Hardly. The problem the Libertarians have is essentially the same problem the Democrats have. They will do any thing for money. That means that when time come for the tough decisions to be made Libertarians will shove the stiletto in the black folk's back and proceed apace with the monied interests. If you don't believe me go look in the shopping malls and grocery stores and Wal Marts. If that doesn't convince you, watch what happens to Herman Cain's candidacy.
So what's the solution for black voters? Self reliance.
Build from with in. Invest in yourselves. Protect your own. Become a monied interest. Screw the Democrats. Screw the Republicans. Vote for the Libertarians when you can hold them to their promises, but never trust them and for god-sake never turn your back on them.

Because he doesn't mean any of it....
Well wishers...
So that's what they're like. Seriously, happy birthday Ms. Claire.
Conservative bloggers...
Are much more likely to ruin her chances than the media or the left. It's sad but it is true.
This is complete crap.
I'm sorry, but not overly surprised to see PJM pushing it. Protein Wisdom, on the other hand, has it right.
America has become a dangerous nation for its allies under this administration, and there is no indication at all that it will change its stripes as long as the current crew continues in power. Western Democracies and those that have relied on America in other places should plan accordingly.

I wonder...
Is it always middle eastern dictators? Do other people ever do this with kids? Anyone know?

They've supported this regime relentlessly behind the scenes.
And of course the faces are blurred, still one wonders if distributing the videos isn't a devious way of making certain that the taping soldiers are targeted. I wouldn't put that past some people. Not likely, I guess, but worth considering. One would have to be there and get a look at the situation on the ground to know for sure.

Set Up?
Political Blogs on the Right
If Herman Cain and Rick Perry and Tim Pawlenty are smart they will take a close look at what the right side political blogs did to Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson. ( I suspect there might be other examples as well if one looks hard enough). When they do they will find that those self same blogs hamstrung each of these people, oft times in vile ways to improve their own readership. The lesson all these candidates should draw from this is simple. Create your own support structure. Defend yourself. Kick the right leaning bloggers and their organizations to the curb. None of them can be trusted.
Well it depends...
